A charming historic town with many sacred sites cradled in a verdant valley, Paro offers a scenic base to explore the important Buddhist attractions and pristine nature around it.
Get some historical perspective at Kyichu Lhakhang and Taktsang Palphug Monastery. Appreciate the collections at Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan and Simply Bhutan Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Paro side-trips: Thimphu (Simtokha Dzong, Dochula Pass, & more). There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest), examine the collection at National Museum, contemplate the waterfront views at Paro River, and snap pictures at Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge.

Pune, India to Paro is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and car; or do a combination of train, bus, and car. In April in Paro, expect temperatures between 24°C during the day and 9°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) early enough to drive to Punakha.
