Amed

A snaking coastline and quaint, sleepy fishing villages characterize Amed, a stretch of shorefront with seven villages in Bali's east.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Mon): kick back and relax at Amed Beach, steep yourself in history at Ujung Water Palace, take in nature's colorful creations at Taman Tirtagangga, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Lempuyang Temple, and finally admire the sheer force of Jagasatru Waterfall. You can do a combination of ferry and car from Nusa Penida to Amed in 3.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of ferry and bus. In October, plan for daily highs up to 90°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Tue) so you can drive to Kuta.

Formerly a sleepy fishing village, the beach resort town of Kuta now represents one of Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations.
