Inhabited for millennia, the city of Bukhara boasts a World Heritage-listed center teeming with historic mosques, madrassas, pools, and ancient ruins.
Get some historical perspective at Great Minaret of the Kalon and Mir-i Arab Madrasah. Do some cultural sightseeing at Ismail Samanid Mausoleum and Palace of Moon-like Stars (Sitorai-Mokhi-Khosa). Karachi, Pakistan to Bukhara is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. In March, daily temperatures in Bukhara can reach 19°C, while at night they dip to 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Fri) to allow enough time to travel to Samarkand.

Uzbekistan’s most glorious city, Samarkand, offers a fine combination of history and modern urban life.
On the 23rd (Sat), stroll the grounds of Gur Emir Mausoleum, browse the eclectic array of goods at Central Bazaar, then take an in-depth tour of Afrasiyab Museum, then see the sky in a new way at Ulugh Beg Observatory, and finally appreciate the history behind Shah-i-Zinda. On the 24th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: view the masterpieces at Art Gallery Happy Bird, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bibi-Khanym Mosque Bibi-Xonum, then contemplate the long history of Tillya Kori Madrasah, and finally don't miss a visit to Registan.

You can take a train from Bukhara to Samarkand in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in March, and nighttime lows around 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Sun) early enough to travel to Khiva.
