Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Tue): do a tasting at Gala Estate Vineyard, thendo a tasting at Devil's Corner Cellar Door, and then make a trip to Bicheno Blowhole. Here are some ideas for day two: get great views at Wineglass Bay Lookout, thenmake a trip to Mt Amos Climb, and then visit a coastal fixture at Cape Tourville Lighthouse.

Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) and Port Arthur Historic Site will appeal to museum buffs. Visit Cascades Female Factory Historic Site and Hobart Convict Penitentiary for their historical value. Step out of Hobart with an excursion to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Brighton--about 30 minutes away. On the 12th (Sun), spend a fun day on foot with Walking tours. The adventure continues: shop like a local with Salamanca Market, take in the awesome beauty at Mount Wellington, appreciate the history behind International Wall of Friendship, and kick back and relax at Seven Mile Beach.

Traveling by car from Coles Bay to Hobart takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 21°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
