You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Karl Johans gate and The Nobel Peace Center. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Vigeland Museum and Akershus Castle and Fortress (Akershus Slott og Festning). There's still lots to do: browse the different shops at Aker Brygge, grab your bike and head to Bygdøy, look for gifts at Outland Oslo, and get engrossed in the history at Fram Polar Ship Museum.

Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at National Gallery of Denmark and Frederiksborg Castle. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Torvehallerne and Roskilde Cathedral. Change things up with a short trip to Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde (about 40 minutes away). There's lots more to do: explore the historical opulence of Rosenborg Castle, admire the striking features of Kastellet, take a leisurely stroll along Nyhavn, and appreciate the history behind The Little Mermaid (Den Lille Havfrue).
