The booming city of Bucharest is a sophisticated metropolis with a high contrast of old- and new-world architecture.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Stavropoleos Monastery and Biserica Sfantul Anton - Curtea Veche. Explore hidden gems such as Herăstrău Park and Muzeul National al Satului "Dimitrie Gusti". There's still lots to do: get a sense of history and politics at Palace of Parliament, walk around Parcul Lumea Copiilor, admire the natural beauty at Cismigiu Gardens, and catch a concert at Romanian Athenaeum (Ateneul Roman).

Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 3 hours traveling from New Delhi to Bucharest. While traveling from New Delhi, expect little chillier days and cooler nights in Bucharest, ranging from highs of 36°C to lows of 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) to allow time to take a train to Brasov.

On the 18th (Thu), explore the galleries of Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), step into the grandiose world of Peles Castle, and then take in breathtaking views at Canionul Șapte Scări. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get in on the family fun at Parc Aventura Brasov, make a trip to Council Square, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sinagoga Neologa.

Take a train from Bucharest to Brasov in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Fri) to allow time to take a bus to Sibiu.

Reminiscent of the height of the bourgeoisie and retaining much of its medieval architecture, Sibiu is Romania's cultural gem.
Kick off your visit on the 20th (Sat): contemplate the long history of Turnul Sfatului (The Tower of the Council), make a trip to Big Square (Piata Mare), then explore the activities along Balea Glacier Lake, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Biserica Evanghelică Fortificată.

Take a bus from Brasov to Sibiu in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. In August, daily temperatures in Sibiu can reach 33°C, while at night they dip to 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 21st (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Budapest.

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Halaszbastya and Széchenyi Thermal Bath. Visit St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika) and Buda Castle for their historical value. And it doesn't end there: take in the spiritual surroundings of Matthias Church, take in the views from Szechenyi Chain Bridge, examine the collection at House of Terror Museum, and explore the activities along Danube River.

Getting from Sibiu to Budapest by car takes about 6 hours. Other options: fly; or take a bus. The time zone changes from Eastern European Time (EET) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a -1 hour difference. In August, daily temperatures in Budapest can reach 32°C, while at night they dip to 18°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
