Wanaka

Situated on the shores of Lake Wanaka in the Otago region, Wanaka has become a popular ski and summer resort area, owing to its extensive views of the lake and its proximity to some of the best slopes in the country.
Get a sense of the local culture at Wine Tours & Tastings and National Transport and Toy Museum. Explore hidden gems such as Cardrona Alpine Resort and Snow Farm NZ. Change things up with a short trip to The Wrinkly Rams in Omarama (about 1h 50 min away). There's much more to do: hike along Mount Iron Track, get in on the family fun at Cardrona Adventure Park, get a bird's-eye view with Air Tours, and relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas.
