Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
On the 21st (Sat), take some stellar pictures from Mount Coot-tha Lookout, then identify plant and animal life at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, and then have some family-friendly fun at Psychic Readings Twin Featherz. Here are some ideas for day two: kick back and relax at Moffat Beach, walk around South Bank Parklands, and then have some family-friendly fun at Zoccer Sports - Bubble Soccer.

Airlie Beach

Very much a town with an emphasis on the tropical lifestyle, Airlie Beach offers exotic surroundings with palm trees and charming, sandy beaches.
On the 23rd (Mon), see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then race across the water with a speed boat tour, and then view the masterpieces at Into The Blue Gallery. On the next day, paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, then get some thrills out on the water with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Airlie Beach Lagoon.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Brisbane to Airlie Beach in 5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and ferry; or drive. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Airlie Beach when traveling from Brisbane in March, with lows around 75°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 24th (Tue) so you can travel to Port Douglas.

A holiday in Port Douglas balances an activity-filled getaway with plenty of opportunities to relax, thanks to its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and bustling beach life.
On the 25th (Wed), look for gifts at With Sugar, take an exotic tour of a safari tour, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas. Cairns

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Take a break from Cairns with a short trip to Palm Cove Beach in Palm Cove, about 32 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, appreciate the history behind Cairns Cenotaph, and trek along Esplanade Boardwalk.
