Narita

— 10 nights
Pilgrims and aviators come to Narita, a town known during the Edo period for its temple, and now known primarily for its airport.
Family-friendly places like Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will thrill your kids. Change things up with these side-trips from Narita: Mito (Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of History, Mito Peace Memorial Museum, &more), Hitachi Seaside Park (in Hitachinaka) and Katori (Katori Jingu Shrine, Historic Old Town area in Sawara, Katori, &more). Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple, walk around Sakura no yama Park, stop by Coeur de Chocolat, and get in on the family fun at Funabashi Andersen Park.

To see photos, other places to visit, more things to do, and tourist information, refer to the Narita visit planner.

Nagoya to Narita is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Traveling from Nagoya in April, Narita is slightly colder at night with lows of 9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Wed) so you can catch the flight back home.
