Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Visiting Okitsu Beach and Ubara Risokyo will get you outdoors. For shopping fun, head to Ginza or Asakusa. Step out of Tokyo to go to Tachikawa and see Showa Kinen Park, which is approximately 58 minutes away. There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Odaiba, get a sense of history and politics at Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings, see the interesting displays at Edo-Tokyo Museum, and enjoy the sand and surf at Odaiba Kaihin Koen (Odaiba Seaside Park).

Take a train from Shizuoka to Tokyo in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. While traveling from Shizuoka, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Tokyo, ranging from highs of 30°C to lows of 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Wed) early enough to take a train to Nagoya.
