Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo) was established by the British as a military outpost, but soon became the summer capital of British Burma, and a popular retreat for the colonial administration on account of its relatively cool and refreshing climate.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Sat): admire the sheer force of Anisakan Falls, then explore the striking landscape of National Kandawgyi Botanical Gardens, and then admire the striking features of All Saints Anglican Church. Keep things going the next day: admire the sheer force of Hampshire Falls and Caves (Pwe Kauk) and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Peik Chin Myaung Cave.

The township of Amarapura reigned as the capital of Myanmar during the 19th century, until King Mindon decided to move many of its religious and royal buildings to nearby Mandalay.
Kick off your visit on the 30th (Mon): admire the landmark architecture of Shwenandaw Monastery, admire the landmark architecture of Kuthodaw Pagoda & the World's Largest Book, then get great views at Mandalay Hill, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tingaza Kyaung Monestary.
