Machu Picchu

A symbol of the Incan civilization, the abandoned city of Machu Picchu represents a must-see on a Peru vacation.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu and Moray. Museum-lovers will appreciate Choco Museo and Museo de Sitio Manuel Chavez Ballon. Explore Machu Picchu's surroundings by going to Ollantaytambo (Inca Bridge, Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo, &more), Salinas de Maras (in Maras) and Cerveceria del Valle Sagrado (in Urubamba). There's lots more to do: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, take in the awesome beauty at Phutuq K'usi, stop by Artesanias, and take some stellar pictures from Intipuncu.

Use Inspirock's suggestions to plan your Machu Picchu trip and find the best activities and attractions for your vacation.

If you are flying in from Mexico, the closest major aiport is Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Sat) early enough to travel to Cusco.
