Once the most important harbor in the Mediterranean Sea, Genoa has a long history as a rich and powerful trade center in northern Italy.
Get out of town with these interesting Genoa side-trips: Sestri Levante (Silentbay Charter, Baia del Silenzio, &more). Wroclaw, Poland to Genoa is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Porto Venere is a town and comune (municipality) located on the Ligurian coast of Italy in the province of La Spezia. On the 25th (Sun), take a stroll through Portovenere, don't miss a visit to Santuario della Madonna Bianca (Chiesa di San Lorenzo), then Head underground at Grotta di Byron, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Parrocchia Santuario Nostra Signora delle Grazie.

You can drive from Genoa to Porto Venere in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a bus. Traveling from Genoa in October, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be little chillier in Porto Venere, with lows of 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Cinque Terre.
