On the 22nd (Sat), appreciate the extensive heritage of Aso Mizuki Meguri, contemplate the waterfront views at Ikeyama Springs, then look for gifts at Michi-no-Eki Asobonosato Kugino, and finally examine the collection at Aso Highland Museum Park. On the next day, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kuninomiyatsuko Shrine, take in the awesome beauty at Daikanbo, then indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens, and finally admire the sheer force of Nabegataki Falls.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to Aso is an approximately 30-hour combination of flight and car. You'll lose 13 hours traveling from Punta Cana to Aso due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Punta Cana in June, expect Aso to be a bit cooler, temps between 30°C and 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) so you can drive to Kumamoto.

Get some historical perspective at Kumamoto Castle and Kato Shrine. Museum-lovers will get to explore Mifune Dinosaur Museum and Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto. Venture out of the city with trips to Heitate Shrine (in Yamato-cho), Tamana (Onsen Resorts & Renge Okunoin Temple) and Okoshiki Beach (in Uto). There's lots more to do: stop by Nankan Iki Iki Village, stroll around Suizenji Jojuen Garden, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kikuchi Shrine, and pause for some serene contemplation at Catholic Tetori Church.
