The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Wed): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kushida Shrine and then buy something for everyone on your list at Tenjin Underground Shopping Center. On your second day here, stop by Matsuda Shoten, take in the spiritual surroundings of Dazaifu Tenman-gu, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tenkai Inari Shrine, then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Asahi Breweries Hakata Brewery, then visit Nishijin Shopping District, and finally let little ones run wild at Ohori Park.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Fukuoka is an approximately 10- hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Malaysia Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference.
