On the 4th (Sat), explore the historical opulence of Osaka Castle, identify plant and animal life at Nara Park, and then wander the streets of Dotonbori. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 5th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Todaiji Temple Cultural Center, identify plant and animal life at Rokuen, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kasuga Grand Shrine, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kofuku-ji Temple, then examine the collection at Osaka Shiritsu Toyo Toji Museum, and finally stop by Jikko Japanese Knife Shop Namba Skyo.

Traveling by flight from Seattle to Osaka takes 15.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 17 hour difference. When traveling from Seattle in April, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Osaka: temperatures range from 68°F by day to 51°F at night. Visit Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Sanjusangendo Temple for their historical value. Get a sense of the local culture at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Kinkaku-ji. Kyoto is very close to Osaka. In April, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 67°F, while at night they dip to 50°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) so you can take a train to Tokyo.
