Visit Tower of London and Churchill War Rooms for their historical value. Museum-lovers will appreciate The British Museum and IWM Duxford. Change things up with a short trip to Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in Kew (about 34 minutes away). Portsmouth is a port city and unitary authority in the ceremonial English county of Hampshire and is located south-west of London and south-east of Southampton. Step out of the city life by going to Hengistbury Head Beach and Durlston Country Park. Stonehenge and Corfe Castle will appeal to history buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Portsmouth side-trips: Corfe Castle (Dorset Adventure Park & Model Village Gardens & Cafe). There's still lots to do: browse the exhibits of HMS Warrior 1860.
