More than 20 million people call Cairo their home and, as soon as you set foot in the sprawling metropolis, it's evident they make it crowded and chaotic, but also exuberant and charming.
Visit Old City (Coptic Cairo) and Khafre's Pyramid for their historical value. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Pyramids of Giza and The Coptic Museum. Step out of Cairo with an excursion to Great Sphinx in Giza--about 34 minutes away. There's much more to do: take a stroll through Islamic Cairo, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Mohamed Ali Mosque, delve into the distant past at Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids, and admire the landmark architecture of Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary).

A monumental number of archaeological relics from ancient Egypt remain evident in Luxor, the former capital of the New Kingdom.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Wed): explore the ancient world of Temple of Karnak, then take an in-depth tour of Luxor Museum, and then explore the ancient world of Luxor Temple. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 8th (Thu): delve into the distant past at Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, explore the different monuments and memorials at Valley of the Kings, then delve into the distant past at Medinet Habu, then make a trip to Isis Temple - Shelwit, and finally stop by Isis 2 Papyrus Museum.

Getting from Cairo to Luxor by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. When traveling from Cairo in March, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Luxor: temperatures range from 86°F by day to 58°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Fri) so you can travel to Sharm El Sheikh.

An enviable location on the southern end of the Sinai Peninsula and year-round warm weather boost tourism in Sharm El Sheikh and make it one of Egypt's premier travel destinations.
Kick off your visit on the 9th (Fri): enjoy the sand and surf at Ras Um Sid and then pause for some serene contemplation at The Heavenly Cathedral. On the 10th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a stroll through Na'ama Bay, enjoy the sand and surf at Shark's Bay Beach, and then admire the local landmark of Musical Fountain Sharm el-Sheikh.

Fly from Luxor to Sharm El Sheikh in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. While traveling from Luxor, expect a bit cooler days and a bit warmer nights in Sharm El Sheikh, ranging from highs of 81°F to lows of 65°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
