Cuba's capital and major commercial center, Havana manages to be very old and very modern at the same time.

Traveling by car from Havana to Varadero takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle; or do a combination of train and taxi. March in Varadero sees daily highs of 32°C and lows of 19°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) so you can fly to Cayo Largo.

Cayo Largo

The stress of modern life feels a million miles away when you holiday on Cayo Largo, a small and unspoiled resort island off the coast of Cuba.
Venture out of the city with trips to Vinales (Jardin Botanico de Vinales, Valle de Vinales, &more). On the 7th (Mon), enjoy a perfect day by the water at Playa Paraiso. And it doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Sirena Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Punta Mal Tiempo, and identify plant and animal life at Sea Turtle Hatchery.

Getting from Varadero to Cayo Largo by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Varadero in March since evenings lows in Cayo Largo dip to 23°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Wed) early enough to catch the bus to Trinidad.

Trinidad

Built on sugar and seemingly preserved in molasses, the town of Trinidad attracts visitors with its well-aged 19th century architecture and rustic charm, showcasing the sounds, scents, and sights of days gone by.
On the 10th (Thu), examine the collection at Romance Museum, don't miss a visit to Plaza Mayor, then examine the collection at Museo de Historia Municipal, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ancon Beach, and finally make a trip to Trinidad de Cuba.

Take a bus from Cayo Largo to Trinidad in 4.5 hours. In March in Trinidad, expect temperatures between 34°C during the day and 21°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Cayo Guillermo.
