The place where Cretan and Venetian cultures merged in the 13th century, Chania Town attracts throngs of tourists with its well-preserved medieval harbor.
Rethymnon Old Town and Historical and Folklore Museum of Rethymno are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will appreciate Greek National Football Museum and Maritime Museum of Crete. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Chania Town: Balos Lagoon (in Kissamos), Elafonissi Beach (in Elafonissi) and Kastro Gramvoussas (in Gramvousa). Spend the 30th (Tue) exploring nature at Samaria Gorge National Park. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of The Venetian Fortezza, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Monastery of Arkadi, kick back and relax at Falassarna Beach, and stroll the grounds of German War Cemetery.

For photos, more things to do, reviews, and more tourist information, go to the Chania Town online attractions planner.
