Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Mon): pause for some serene contemplation at Trinity United Methodist Church, explore the world behind art at Denver Art Museum, and then contemplate the long history of Denver Union Station. Here are some ideas for day two: get to know the resident critters at Denver Zoo and then look and learn at Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
