The allure of the multi-cultural capital, Brussels, stems from its mix of political intrigue, artistic influence, historical significance, and a thriving social scene.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Grand Place and Maison d'Erasme. Do some cultural sightseeing at Atomium and St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral (Cathedrale St-Michel et Ste-Gudule). Step out of Brussels with an excursion to Pairi Daiza in Brugelette--about 1 hour away. There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Musical Instruments Museum (MIM), pause for some photo ops at Manneken Pis, indulge your thirst for a good beer at Cantillon Brewery, and visit Upper Town - Haut de la Ville.

The medieval town of Bruges centers around a canal, and the architecture of its historical district has made it a World Heritage Site.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Historic Centre of Brugge and Gravensteen. Get some historical perspective at Basilica of the Holy Blood and Saint Bavo's Cathedral. Venture out of the city with trips to De Panne Beach (in De Panne) and Ghent (Caermersklooster Provincial Centre of Art and Culture & The Art Gallery of Saint Peter's Abbey).
