One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.
Get out of town with these interesting Athens side-trips: Archaeological Site Mycenae (in Mycenae) and Nafplio (Nauplion Promenade, Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation, &more). Fly from Athens to Vasilikos in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. Traveling from Athens in August, Vasilikos is a bit cooler at night with lows of 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Wed) so you can drive to Anafonitria.
