Straddling the banks of the Eerste River, the university town of Stellenbosch enjoys international fame for its renowned wine estates and gourmet restaurants.
Venture out of the city with trips to Shark Diving (in Gansbaai), Betty's Bay (Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens & Stony Point Penguin Colony) and First South African Perfume Museum (in Franschhoek). Dedicate the 29th (Sun) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area.
