Hoi An

Indisputably one of Vietnam's most atmospheric destinations, Hoi An contains a World Heritage-listed old town boasting over 2,000 years of culture and history.
On the 13th (Tue), relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour, and then stop by Da Bao Real Leather. Here are some ideas for day two: take in the dramatic natural features at The Marble Mountains, then don't miss a visit to Hoi An Ancient Town, and then take in the views from Japanese Covered Bridge.

Getting from Hanoi to Hoi An by flight takes about 4 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of train and taxi. In April, daytime highs in Hoi An are 36°C, while nighttime lows are 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Hue.

Nestled on the banks of the Perfume River, the city of Hue remains most famous as the former home of the Nguyen Dynasty, the influence of which remains evident in local palaces, temples, forts, and museums.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Thu): contemplate the long history of Tomb of Tu Duc, then contemplate the long history of Luc Bo Culture Space, then admire the landmark architecture of Thien Mu Pagoda, and finally steep yourself in history at Imperial City.

Traveling by car from Hoi An to Hue takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and train; or take a bus. In April, daily temperatures in Hue can reach 37°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Thu) to allow time to travel to Ho Chi Minh City.

Traveling by flight from Hue to Ho Chi Minh City takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Hue in April: high temperatures in Ho Chi Minh City hover around 41°C and lows are around 30°C. You'll have a few hours on the 18th (Sun) to wrap things up before traveling home.
