Start off your visit on the 4th (Tue): engage your brain at National Museum of Natural Science, then make a trip to Tunghai University, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Hehuanshan National Forest Recreation Area. Getting from Nantou to Hualien by combination of bus and train takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: drive. Traveling from Nantou in February, Hualien is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Taitung.

Taitung

Sitting between the mountains and the sea, Taitung offers pleasing scenery no matter what direction you face.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Sat): walk around Human Rights Culture Park, then head off the coast to Green Island, and then step off the mainland to explore Sanxiantai. On the next day, walk around Xiouyeliu, then stroll around Taidong Forest Park, then get engrossed in the history at Beinan Wenhua Park, and finally make a trip to Taitung Brown's Road.

You can drive from Hualien to Taitung in 2.5 hours. Another option is to take a train. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sun) so you can go by car to Hengchun.

Hengchun

Located on the southern tip of the eponymous peninsula, Hengchun serves as the entry point to Kenting National Park, often attracting more travelers than locals with its tropical beach resorts and bustling night markets.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Mon): explore the wealth of natural beauty at Kenting National Park, then walk around Longpan Park, and then enjoy breathtaking views from Southern Point. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium and then walk around Xiao Liu Qiu.
