Galle

The southernmost city on the island, Galle combines colonial-era history with a tropical feel and climate.
Change things up with these side-trips from Galle: Hikkaduwa Beach (in Hikkaduwa) and Mirissa (Mirissa Beach, Dolphin & Whale Watching, &more). The relaxing hilltop village of Ella benefits from a more temperate climate than much of the rest of country thanks to its high elevation.
On the 22nd (Thu), kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Little Adam's Peak, then snap pictures at Nine Arches Bridge, and finally savor the flavors at Honey Bee Garden. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Rakkhiththa Kanda Aranya Senasanaya, then take in the dramatic scenery at Ravana Ella Falls, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Ella Rock.

Traveling by car from Galle to Ella takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi; or do a combination of bus and train. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Fri) so you can go by car to Sigiriya.

Sigiriya

The historic rock of the same name dominates the landscape of World Heritage-listed Sigiriya, where the steep and striking lava plug contains the ruins of an ancient empire.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Sigiriya: Dambulla (Golden Temple of Dambulla & Balloon Rides). Spend the 25th (Sun) exploring nature at Minneriya National Park. The adventure continues: explore the ancient world of Sigiriya Fortress, pick up some local products at Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre, don't miss a visit to Pidurangala Rock, and stroll through Dhilip De Alwis.

Drive from Ella to Sigiriya in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and flight; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Kandy.

Nestled between mountains in inland Sri Lanka, Kandy proudly bears its World Heritage Site designation while remaining culturally independent and colorfully picturesque.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Tue): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, then relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers, and then take in nature's colorful creations at Royal Botanical Gardens.
