Sarlat-la-Caneda is the capital of the former Périgord Noir, now referred to as the Aquitaine region that is home to a historical area consisting of impeccably preserved 14th-century buildings and sites.
Kick off your visit on the 4th (Sat): make a trip to Lanterne des Morts, thenbrush up on your knowledge of spirits at Distillerie de la Trappe, thendon't miss a visit to Les Cabanes du Breuil, and finally experience rural life at Les Noyeraies du Landers. On the next day, look for gifts at Cave Philippe Godard, see the interesting displays at Manoir de Gisson, thenpause for some photo ops at Statues des Trois Oies, thenmake a trip to Vieux Sarlat, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedrale Saint-Sacerdos.

Luxembourg City, Luxembourg to Sarlat-la-Caneda is an approximately 9-hour car ride. You can also fly; or do a combination of train and bus. Best known as a fortified town, Carcassonne is a walled city that provided the inspiration for the castle in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" and the location for many scenes in Kevin Costner's movie "Robin Hood." For a daily dose of excitement, medieval jousting tournaments are held twice per day between the two walls--while this may sound like a typical touristy show, it's actually an entertaining display of combative competition and horsemanship.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Mon): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Carcassonne Cathedral, ponder the design of Fountain of Neptune, don't miss a visit to La Porte D'aude, thenstop by Cité de Carcassonne, and finally snap pictures at Le Pont Vieux (The Old Bridge). Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 7th (Tue): pause for some serene contemplation at Eglise St. Vincent, contemplate the waterfront views at Lac de la Cavayere, thentake in the architecture and atmosphere at Eglise Saint-Nazaire, and finally learn about all things military at Centre Culturel De La Memoire Combattante.

Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Sarlat-la-Caneda in July since evenings lows in Carcassonne dip to 20°C. At the southernmost tip of the island of Corsica, Bonifacio is a city with chalk-white limestone outcrops sculpted into unusual shapes by the ocean.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): make a trip to Escalier du Roi d'Aragon (King Aragon Steps), take a memorable tour with Tours, thenkick back and relax at Plage de Canetto, and finally kick back and relax at Sutta Rocca Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 9th (Thu): kick back and relax at La Tonnara Beach, thenkick back and relax at Plage de San Giovanni, and then trek along Sentier Littoral des Bruzzi.

Fly from Carcassonne to Bonifacio in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, ferry, and bus. In July, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Calvi.

Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
