Billund

— 2 nights

Home of LEGO

Billund centers around everything LEGGO, as the seat of the internationally renowed company's headquarters (and also home to the Billund airport, built by the LEGGO company).
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Billund: Ribe (Museet Ribes Vikinger & Ribe Vikinge Center). There's still lots to do: enjoy some diversion at LEGO House, explore the striking landscape at Syvaarssoeen, get your game on at Monky Tonky Land, and make a splash at Lalandia.

To see reviews, where to stay, ratings, and other tourist information, go to the Billund online day trip planner.

Dayton, USA to Billund is an approximately 16-hour flight. Traveling from Dayton to Billund, you'll lose 6 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Dayton in December, Billund is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 34°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Odense.

Odense

— 3 nights

Odin's Shrine

The capital of the island of Funen, Odense represents the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, who penned such classics as "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling." Denmark's third-largest city proudly displays its link to the famous writer with museums, sculptures, and public art installations dedicated to Andersen and his stories.
Change things up with these side-trips from Odense: Middelfart (CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark & Galleri Arte&Vida) and Konnerup & Co ApS (in Faaborg). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Egeskov Castle, contemplate the long history of Hans Christian Andersens Childhood Home, see the interesting displays at H. C. Andersens House, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Vissenbjerg Kirke.

Plan my Odense trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

Getting from Billund to Odense by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 42°F in December, and nighttime lows around 34°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) early enough to drive to Aero.
