The landscape surrounding Catania, a medieval city on Sicily's eastern coast, is dominated by Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Fri): get engrossed in the history at Monastero dei Benedettini, then steep yourself in history at Piazza Duomo, and then admire the landmark architecture of Basilica Catedrale Sant'Agata V.M. Catania.
