Tel Aviv, Israel to Edinburgh is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Tel Aviv to Edinburgh. In August, Edinburgh is much colder than Tel Aviv - with highs of 21°C and lows of 11°C. Kirkwall is the largest town and capital of the Orkney Islands of Scotland. On the 15th (Thu), steep yourself in history at Bishop & Earls Palace, take in the spiritual surroundings of Saint Magnus Cathedral, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Italian Chapel on Lamb Holm, then get engrossed in the history at The Orkney Museum, then delve into the distant past at Ring of Brodgar, and finally explore the ancient world of Skara Brae.

You can fly from Edinburgh to Kirkwall in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of train and bus. In August in Kirkwall, expect temperatures between 19°C during the day and 11°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Thu) to allow time to travel to Stornoway.
