Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S. jurisdiction and one of the oldest in the Americas.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 22nd (Sun), take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, kick back and relax at Balneario Sun Bay, and then kick back and relax at Navio Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: kick back and relax at Playa Pata Prieta, then kick back and relax at Playa La Chiva, then enjoy the sand and surf at Caracas Beach, and finally get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports.

You can fly from San Juan to Isla de Vieques in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of shuttle and ferry. Culebra

Little Island

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
On the 24th (Tue), enjoy the sand and surf at Flamenco Beach and then kick back and relax at Tamarindo Beach. On the 25th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick back and relax at Playa Punta Soldado Beach, then take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, then enjoy the sand and surf at Zoni Beach, and finally head off the coast to Culebrita.
