One of Poland's oldest cities, Krakow sits at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, its historical town center nestled on the left bank of the Vistula River.
Take a break from Krakow with a short trip to Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau in Oswiecim, about 1h 30 min away. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Wawel Royal Castle, make a trip to Main Market Square, examine the collection at Muzeum Historyczne Miasta Krakowa Fabryka Emalia Oskara Schindlera, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Wawel Cathedral.

Take a train from Warsaw to Krakow in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 5°C in February, and nighttime lows around -3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Wed) so you can drive to Wroclaw.

Known for its relaxed and liberal atmosphere, the energetic city of Wroclaw lures visitors with its rich cultural heritage and pedestrian-friendly old town.
