Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
On the 14th (Sat), pause for some serene contemplation at Santa Maria dei Miracoli, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di San Zaccaria, admire the masterpieces at Museo Querini Stampalia, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di San Salvador, then admire the masterpieces at Ca' Pesaro Galleria Internazionale d'Arte Moderna, and finally explore the galleries of Palazzo Mocenigo. On your second day here, wander the streets of Cannaregio, contemplate the long history of Basilica di Santa Giustina, steep yourself in history at Piazza dei Signori, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Passeggiata lungo la restera, then examine the collection at Museo del Vetro, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Santa Maria e San Donato.
