Pyongyang is known for museums, historic sites, and nightlife. Relatively relaxed and atmosphertic, the centuries-old city of Kaesong lies near the Demilitarized Zone and the border with South Korea, and has served as an industrial center since being traded to the North in the Korean War.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Sat): get engrossed in the history at Koryo Museum, contemplate the long history of Kaesong Namdaemun, then contemplate the long history of Tomb of King Kongmin, then make a trip to Concrete Wall, and finally make a trip to Demilitarized Zone.

Traveling by car from Pyongyang to Kaesong takes 2 hours. In February, plan for daily highs up to 39°F, and evening lows to 22°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Hyangsan.

Hyangsan

A mountainous county, Hyangsan has long been a popular tourist destination with North Koreans, and the refurbishment of its striking, pyramid-shaped hotel in 2010 also gave a boost to international tourism.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Sun): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Myohyang, see the interesting displays at International Friendship Exhibition, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Pohyonsa Temple.
