Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
Visiting Promenade du Paillon and Sentier du littoral - Le Lavandou - Plage de la Fossette will get you outdoors. Visit Saint-Paul de Vence and Tourrettes-sur-Loup for their historical value. Explore Nice's surroundings by going to Promenade Le Corbusier (in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin), Port de Cavalaire (in Cavalaire-Sur-Mer) and Basilica St. Michel (in Menton). There's still lots to do: explore the different monuments and memorials at Cemetery of the Old Chateau, kick back and relax at Plage de Cavaliere, take in the spiritual surroundings of Monastère de Cimiez, and see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.
