Nestled between rising hills in a narrow valley, Medellin serves as an energetic melting pot of people from all socio-economic classes.

An industrial port city on Colombia's Caribbean coast, Barranquilla represents the fourth-most populous city in the country.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Wed): contemplate the long history of Castillo de Salgar, examine the collection at Museo del Caribe, and then look for gifts at Todomono. On the 19th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take an in-depth tour of Museo Mapuka, get your bearings at Biblioteca Piloto del Caribe, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepcion.

You can fly from Medellin to Barranquilla in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. In March, Barranquilla is a bit warmer than Medellin - with highs of 90°F and lows of 76°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Cartagena.

Cartagena is known for historic sites, museums, and nightlife. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, take an in-depth tour of Museo del Oro Zenu, steep yourself in history at Walled City of Cartagena, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.
