Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Barrio de Salamanca and Cava Baja Gallery. Get a sense of the local culture at Casco Historico de Toledo and Plaza Mayor. Venture out of the city with trips to Toledo (Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, MQM Museo del Queso Manchego Toledo, &more). There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Prado National Museum, admire the landmark architecture of Palacio de Cibeles, steep yourself in history at Royal Palace of Madrid, and stop by La Latina.

Manama, Bahrain to Madrid is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone difference moving from Arabian Standard Time (AST) to Central European Standard Time (CET) is minus 2 hours. When traveling from Manama in December, plan for little chillier days and cooler nights in Madrid: temperatures range from 14°C by day to 3°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Sun) early enough to catch the train to Cordoba.
