Palanga

Palanga is a seaside resort town in western Lithuania, on the shore of the Baltic Sea. Get out of town with these interesting Palanga side-trips: Klaipeda (Sculpture Golden Mouse, Vytauto Sliogerio atminimo plokste - peda, &more) and Zemaitija Park Forest (in Plateliai). And it doesn't end there: stroll around Birute Park, enjoy the scholastic atmosphere at Klaipeda University, enjoy the sand and surf at Palanga Beach, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Birute's Hill.

Start off your visit on the 20th (Thu): wander the streets of Old Town Kaunas, explore the historical opulence of Kaunas Castle, pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, then examine the collection at National M. K. Ciurlionis Art Museum, and finally wander the streets of Laisves aleja (Liberty Boulevard). Keep things going the next day: admire the natural beauty at Kaunas Botanical Garden, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Pazaislis Monastery, then steep yourself in history at Ninth Fort, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Kaunas Town Hall.
