Situated among a collection of low hills that lead up to the coastline, state capital Thiruvananthapuram acts as a base for exploration of the southern tip of the country.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple and Kanakakunnu Palace & Grounds. Head to Shalimar Weaves and Keralashopeefor plenty of shopping. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum): Varkala (Varkala Beach & The Art of India) and Kovalam (Lighthouse Beach & Kovalam Beach). Sitting at the point where three mountain rivers meet, the hill station of Munnar has become known as a tea-growing center in the south of the country.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Fri): admire the engineering at Mattupetty Dam, then examine the collection at Tea Museum, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at C.S.I Christ Church, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Tea Gardens.

Do a combination of flight and taxi from Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) to Munnar in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi; or drive. In March in Munnar, expect temperatures between 40°C during the day and 28°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Thekkady.

A flourishing port city and magnet for the spice trade since the 15th century, Kochi (Cochin) proudly bears its distinct international influence and local Keralan culture.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Paradesi Synagogue and Jew Town. Your inner history buff will appreciate Church of Saint Francis and St. Andrew's Basilica Arthunkal. Go for a jaunt from Kochi (Cochin) to Mararikulam to see Marari Beach about 1h 15 min away.
