Step off the beaten path and head to San Giorgio Maggiore and Piazza dei Signori. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Piazza San Marco and Doge's Palace. Venture out of the city with trips to Padua (Battistero del Duomo & Basilica di Santa Giustina). And it doesn't end there: don't miss a visit to Basilica di San Marco, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Scuola Grande di San Rocco, take a stroll through Cannaregio, and steep yourself in history at Scala Contarini del Bovolo.

Beirut, Lebanon to Venice is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Beirut to Venice. In August, Venice is a bit cooler than Beirut - with highs of 34°C and lows of 22°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Fri) so you can catch the train to Florence.
