Made up of five picturesque towns on the Ligurian coast, Cinque Terre is Italy's answer to the French Riviera.
On the 27th (Sat), pause for some serene contemplation at Convento dei Cappuccini e Chiesa di San Francesco, then hike along Il Sentiero da Levanto a Monterosso, then take in the waterfront at Passeggiata Lungomare, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Footpath Monterosso - Vernazza. Keep things going the next day: stop by Fannys Bazar, explore the wealth of natural beauty at Parco Nazionale Cinque Terre, and then stroll through Cinque Terre footpaths.

Porto, Portugal to Cinque Terre is an approximately 9.5- hour combination of flight and train. You can also do a combination of flight, bus, and train; or drive. The time zone difference when traveling from Porto to Cinque Terre is 1 hour. When traveling from Porto in June, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Cinque Terre: temperatures range from 32°C by day to 18°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Sun) early enough to drive to Florence.

Getting from Cinque Terre to Florence by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a train. In June in Florence, expect temperatures between 33°C during the day and 21°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Tue) early enough to catch the train to Verona.

Verona

The famous setting for Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, Verona is one of northern Italy's main tourist destinations, largely owing to its incredibly rich artistic heritage.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Wed): don't miss a visit to Liston, delve into the distant past at Arena di Verona, take in panoramic vistas at Torre dei Lamberti, take a stroll through Piazza delle Erbe, then step into the grandiose world of Museo di Castelvecchio, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore. On the next day, relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, then awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area, and then make a trip to Piazza Bra.

Traveling by train from Florence to Verona takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 34°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Thu) to allow enough time to take a bus to Venice.
