A physical and cultural bridge between Europe and Asia, the transcontinental city of Istanbul serves as a living reminder of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires.
Get a sense of the local culture at Hagia Sophia and Fatih Mosque and Complex. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Beyoglu and Chora Museum. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Topkapi Palace, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Suleymaniye Cami , explore the galleries of Galata Tower, and stop by Jennifer's Hamam.
