Aegina is one of the Saronic Islands of Greece in the Saronic Gulf, 27km from Athens. Kick off your visit on the 1st (Thu): look for all kinds of wild species at EKPAZ - Hellenic Wildlife Hospital ( But Not Functioning ) and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Moni Island Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: enjoy the sand and surf at Marathonas Beach, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church Saint Nicholas the Thalassinos, and then delve into the distant past at Temple of Apollo.

Athens to Aegina is an approximately 2-hour ferry ride. You can also ride a ferry; or do a combination of taxi and ferry. In July, plan for daily highs up to 38°C, and evening lows to 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Fri) so you can travel to Hydra.
