Admire the temples and shrines of Kurume, a small, compact town situated on the Chikushi Plain, known for its local products, such as an indigo woven fabric, bamboo lacquerware, and pork ramen.
On the 9th (Tue), examine the collection at Kyushu National Museum, look for gifts at Koga Baiko-ken, then take in nature's colorful creations at Komyozen-ji Temple, then stop by Matsuda Shoten, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Dazaifu Tenman-gu. Keep things going the next day: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Minorenzan, then explore the activities along Chikugo River, then make a trip to Rainbow Tunnel, and finally look for gifts at Junido Etoya Dazaifu Gojo Honten.
