Built on a desolate swamp as a showcase capital of Imperial Russia, this grand city has certainly lived up to the expectations of its founder, Tsar Peter the Great.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Fri): don't miss a visit to Palace Square (Dvortsovaya Ploshchad) and then admire the masterpieces at The State Hermitage Museum. Keep things going the next day: admire the striking features of Smolny Cathedral, pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Isaac's Cathedral, then pause for some serene contemplation at Savior on the Spilled Blood, and finally examine the collection at Russian Museum.

New Delhi, India to St. Petersburg is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference moving from India Standard Time (IST) to Moscow Standard Time (MSK) is minus 2 hours. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from New Delhi in July: high temperatures in St. Petersburg hover around 26°C and lows are around 16°C. You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Tue): make a trip to Halaszbastya, take in the spiritual surroundings of Matthias Church, then snap pictures at Szechenyi Chain Bridge, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), and finally get a sense of history and politics at Hungarian Parliament Building. On the 15th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: pause for some photo ops at Hősök tere, then see the interesting displays at House of Terror Museum, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Janoshegy, and finally contemplate the long history of Liberty Statue.

Fly from Prague to Budapest in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 33°C in July, and nighttime lows around 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Wed) early enough to travel to Dubrovnik.

Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
On the 16th (Thu), wander the streets of Old Town and then step off the mainland to explore Island of Lokrum. Here are some ideas for day two: take in panoramic vistas at Upper Corner Tower Foundry Museum, steep yourself in history at Dubrovnik City Walls, and then race across the water with a speed boat tour.
