A quiet port town situated on Crete's western tip, Kissamos attracts mostly domestic tourists and possesses more of the quintessential Greek feel than livelier resorts strung along the island's coastline.
On the 1st (Sun), identify plant and animal life at Sailing In Crete - Fantasia Sailing Boat and then kick back and relax at Balos Lagoon. Wholeheartedly dedicated to tourism, Hersonissos remains best known for its vibrant nightlife, its bars and clubs attracting partygoers from around the world.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Tue): observe the fascinating underwater world at CRETAquarium, see the interesting displays at Kazantzakis Museum, and then head off the coast to Fortress Spinalonga. On your second day here, learn more about the world around you at The Natural History Museum of Crete, then get engrossed in the history at Heraklion Archaeological Museum, and then delve into the distant past at The Palace of Knossos.
