A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
On the 6th (Sat), explore the activities along Lake Goygol. On the 7th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: look for all kinds of wild species at Maralgol lake, then stroll around Heydar Aliyev Park, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Imamzadeh Mausoleum.

Fly from Baku to Ganja in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. In March, daily temperatures in Ganja can reach 16°C, while at night they dip to 5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Sheki.

Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Mon): make a trip to Sheki Fortress, then explore the galleries of Sheki Khans' Palace, then admire the landmark architecture of Sheki Karvansaray, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Kish.

Traveling by car from Sheki to Gabala takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In March in Gabala, expect temperatures between 15°C during the day and 3°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) early enough to drive to Gobustan.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
