Miracle City

The capital city of Quindio Department, Armenia was founded in 1889 by Jesus Maria Ocampo as he sought a hideout in the Quindio mountains.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Armenia: Parque del Cafe (in Montenegro) and Salento (Kasaguadua Natural Reserve & Las Acacias Coffee Farm). There's much more to do: make a trip to Eje Cafetero (Zona Cafetera), get engrossed in the history at Museo del Oro Quimbaya, and get outside with Parque de la Vida.

The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.
When in Cartagena, make a side trip to see Playa Blanca in Isla Baru, approximately Isla Baru away.
