Located in the South Holland province, Rotterdam is one of the Netherlands' most lively cities, as well as one of the largest trading ports in the world.
Visit World Heritage Kinderdijk and De Rooms-katholieke Kerk H. Franciscus van Assisie for their historical value. Explore hidden gems such as Markthal and The Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery. Change things up with these side-trips from Rotterdam: Boulevard van Vlissingen (in Vlissingen), Vrouwenpolder Beach (in Veere) and Oostkapelle Beach (in Oostkapelle). There's still lots to do: stroll through Rietplas, pause for some serene contemplation at Maria van Jessekerk, examine the collection at Louwman Museum The Hague, and kick back and relax at Beach Wassenaarseslag.
